Apply for your RS Inter Club licence

Motorsport UK RS Inter Club licence
Register with Motorsport UK online and apply through its Sport80 system; no test and no medical examination are required at this level. Juniors in the Swift series also need an Entrant PG licence.

What licence do I need for rallycross?
A Motorsport UK RS Inter Club licence, which you apply for online. No test or medical is required at this level.
How old do you have to be to race rallycross?
Juniors can compete from 14, for example in the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship for 14–16-year-olds. General rallycross competition is from 16.
Can I try rallycross without owning a car?
Yes. Tuition and test days at Lydden Hill use Suzuki Swift rallycross cars, and the Swift, Junior and Cross Car championships offer arrive-and-drive options.
How much does it cost to enter a rallycross event?
At club level in 2026, BTRDA Rallycross charges £30 club membership, £80 championship registration and £332–£440 per round. British Rallycross rounds cost more.
What safety kit do I need for rallycross?
A helmet, fireproof overalls, a frontal head restraint and gloves, all to Motorsport UK regulations. A balaclava, fireproof underwear and proper race shoes are strongly recommended.
